10 Sleeperz in 10'
Leon Washington - Talk is the Jets are putting together a big deal 2 keep Mr. Washington in NYC. Coming out of Fla St. in the 4th round of the same draft as Reggie Bush, 4 years later who would've thought Washington would be having a better NFL career then his draft class partner? That's the way it's been going and I would personally rather have Washington on my squad then Bush. Leon hasn't missed a game in his career, he had 8TDz last season (rarely being used) and T-Rex Ryan will make it a point 2 get the rock 2 LW with a rookie under center. Did I mention Marshall Faulk says Washington has the Barry Sanders effect. U be the judge
Packers D/ST - They brought in Dom Capers to bring in the 3-4 and keep teams off-balanced, mix that in with their personnel and this team has a nice recipe for disruption. Even though they are getting up there in age, Woodson and Harris are still lethal DB'z. AJ Hawk is the anchor in the middle and have u seen BJ Raji??? Move over Haynesworth, this kid is 4 real. I'll take 13 turnoverz in 3 pre-season games as an indicator!!!
Kevin Walter - Coming off 2 seasons with 800 ydz receiving and scoring 8tdz last season, Walter is in a nice situation to become a fantasy threat. The big key 2 Walters' success is if his QB can stay healthy this season. Schaub knows how to use all his weapons and with the D concentrating on Johnson, Slaton and even O. Daniels being threats, this allows Walter 2 get his own. Last season Walter was 5th in the league in red zone targets...
Greg Olsen-John Carlson-Brent Celek: Everybody is talking about the depth @ TE this year. Personally, I spent early picks on the big 3 in my drafts this season, b/c I knew it was 1 less spot I had 2 use on my bench and on a bye week there should be a waiver wire TE I can use. But if u miss out, these 3 candidates could & should be starters on a fantasy roster. Olsen has the potential 2 be an All-Pro now that Cutty is in-town. (He also can freestyle with the best of em') Carlson had 5 tdz last season and now that Hasselback is under center I expect an increase across the board. Celek has huge potential 2 in the high octane O out of Philly', McNabb will use him wisely as he did during the playoffs last season. Even Chris Cooley has Celek as a sleeper. If u notice all 3 TE's have top QB's throwing them the rock-
Darren Sproles - LT is back, looking healthy and personally I'm hoping he has a monster season as I drafted him in the majority of my leagues. But the fact is, Sproles is gonna have opportunities to make something happen. He will only get the rock in the backfield to spell LT when he needs a breather, but they will make it a point to get him involved in the passing game. SD has so many weapons and that allows Sproles to have more chances 2 make a big play. If you are in a league where return ydz count, Sproles value hits the roof as he will be huge in the Special teams game 4 the Chargerz
Ahmad Bradshaw - The Giants know how 2 get value in the real draft, landing the 7th rounder out of Marshall. You could get good value out of your fantasy draft if you swoop up Bradshaw. Now that Ward is gone and Bradshaw backing up the injury prone Jacobs in one of the best rushing attacks in the league. Ahmad has sleeper written all over him. His 1-out-of-every-16.75 ratio of long runs ranked higher than Adrian Peterson’s one-out-of-every-18.15, DeAngelo William’s one-out of every 18.2 carries, and Chris Johnson’s one-out-of-every-27 carries.
Joe Flacco - U don't know Joe? Flacco isn't on anybodies radar and everybody looks @ Baltimore as a running team. Well they are, but Flacco already has Vet swagger. Last season his job was - don't turn the rock over and give the D good field position. I Expect offensive coordinator Cam Cameron to open up the offense more in 2009 and let Flacco do work, Hey, a dump off pass to Rice for a 60yd td counts as a passing TD, this dude could be a backup gem and a possible starter as the season gets rollin. I missed out on QBz in my 14 team league and starting Flacco week 1 against KC. Don't 4get Joe led the Ravens 2 the AFC championship game last season.
Ramses Barden - Hakeem Nicks - I think these 2 rookiez r gonna become Eli's top targets fairly quick. I heard about Cal Poly standout Ramses Barden tearing up the record books out here in Cali last year and he landed with the team that happened to be trying to replace their 6'6 wide out, well Barden matches those attributes and is even a class act, this kid will be a top NFL WR. Nicks is a game breaker in his own right, his highlights @ UNC show his skillz, now can he have the work ethic it takes 2 be a Pro. I predict these 2 to trade off on big big games this season and be called the (www) WavierWireWarrior.WideoutRookieSensations.com
Jerious Norwood - Entering his 4th season, Norwood has the ability 2 be a number 1 in the NFL. Problem is he's behind Burner Turner. Norwood did have 6tdz last season and was used nicely in the passing attack. I think they will increase his carries this season and he could be the man runnin the Wildcat in Hot-lanta. With the offense expected to be even better this season, I think Norwood will have more big play chances and if Turner gets hurt, he could be a monster... I'm expecting big things from ATL this season, real BIG!
Sidney Rice - Viking fans are still waiting on this 6'4 threat 2 show his skillz. His knee injury seems 2 be behind him and he worked out wit Fitz this summer. Berrian is the number 1 and a deep threat, but Rice hopefully will be used as a possession WR with his size and a nice red zone threat. They got other weapons like Shiancoe and they'll be trying to find ways to get Harvin the rock but Rice is a low-risk/late-round fantasy option with plenty of upside.
